Canadian rapper Tory Lanez sentencing for felony assault has been delayed once again. Lanez was originally scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, June 13, but the hearing was postponed until August 7.

The delay comes after Lanez’s attorney, Shawn Holley, filed a motion for a new trial. Holley argued that the judge in the case, Michael Pastor, made several errors during the trial, including allowing the prosecution to introduce evidence that was not relevant to the case.

The judge denied Holley’s motion, but he agreed to delay the sentencing so that the appellate court could have time to consider the matter.

Lanez was convicted of felony assault in September 2022 for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in July 2020. He faces up to 22 years in prison.

The delay in Lanez’s sentencing is a setback for the rapper, but it is not the end of the case. The appellate court could overturn the conviction, or it could uphold the conviction and send the case back to the lower court for sentencing.

It is also possible that Lanez and the prosecution could reach a plea deal before the sentencing hearing. A plea deal would likely result in a shorter sentence for Lanez.

The case is still ongoing, and it is too early to say what the ultimate outcome will be. However, the delay in Lanez’s sentencing is a sign that the case is not over yet.
