In a statement posted to social media, McDermott said that he and Tori Spelling had decided to “go our separate ways” after “18 years together and 5 amazing children.” He added that they would continue to work together as parents and “guide and love our children through this difficult time.”
The news of Spelling and McDermott’s separation comes after years of speculation about the state of their marriage. In 2014, McDermott was caught cheating on Spelling with a woman he met in a bar. The couple reconciled, but there have been reports of infidelity on McDermott’s part in the years since.
A source close to the couple told ET that Spelling is “done” with McDermott and is “not interested in reconciling.” The source added that Spelling is “focused on her children and her career” and is “not dating anyone else at this time.”
Spelling and McDermott met in 2005 and married in 2006. They have five children together: Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau.
In a statement to ET, Spelling said that she and McDermott are “amicably working through this process” and that they “ask for privacy at this time.”
