Russell Simmons Accused of Verbal Abuse by Daughter and Ex-Wife

Russell Simmons, the hip-hop mogul and co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, has been accused of verbal abuse by his daughter Aoki Lee Simmons and ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons.

Aoki posted screenshots of text messages on her Instagram Stories on Monday, in which Simmons allegedly called Kimora a “piece of [s]hit” and accused her of stealing money from him. Aoki also claimed that Simmons calls her just to rant and curse about his legal problems.

Kimora confirmed the authenticity of the text messages in a statement to Rolling Stone. She said that Simmons has been “erratic and increasingly abusive” towards her and their daughter for years.

Simmons has not responded to the allegations. He has previously denied allegations of sexual harassment and assault made by multiple women.
