Singer Bebe Rexha was rushed off stage after a phone hit her in the head at a concert in New York on Sunday night. The phone was thrown by a 27-year-old man who has since been arrested and charged with assault. Rexha was taken to the hospital with a bruised face and a cut on her head, but she is expected to make a full recovery.
The incident happened during Rexha’s performance at the Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City. Video footage of the incident shows the phone flying through the air and hitting Rexha in the face. She immediately falls to her knees and crew members rush to help her.
Rexha’s team has not yet commented on the incident, but she did post a video on TikTok showing her face bruised and sporting a bandage. She captioned the video, “I’m okay you guys.”
This is not the first time that a phone has been thrown at a performer on stage. In 2017, a fan threw a phone at Justin Bieber during a concert in Oslo, Norway. Bieber was not injured, but he stopped the concert and called out the fan.
It is not yet clear how the New York incident will affect the remainder of Rexha’s tour. She has five more concerts scheduled, including stops in Philadelphia, Washington DC, Atlanta, Orlando, and Houston.
